See Me Well® Foundation exists to develop young ladies who know Christ intimately, who understand and accept themselves fully, and who embrace God-given purpose confidently.
Every young woman understands her worth in Christ and values her place and contributions to the Kingdom and in the world.
See Me Well® Foundation is rooted in the biblical account of Hagar, found in Genesis 16. Hagar is given over to a covenant she does not agree with, simply by existing in a certain place. She has an adverse reaction to this forced agreement, is dealt with harshly due to her reaction and ultimately runs away. The angel of the Lord finds her on the road to Shur (meaning wall: an extreme or desperate position or a state of defeat, failure, or ruin). He calls her by name and asks where she is coming from and where she intends to go. Hagar doesn't respond to either question, but instead shares only why she has run away. The angel instructs her to go back to where she came from and humbly submit to the authority there. He also details where she is going, by sharing the Lord's intention for what is within her. She names the place where God sees her, where she sees herself through His lens, and where she sees what she's purposed to birth: 'Beer-lahai-roi' or 'well of the Living One who sees me'.
Much like Hagar, young women today find themselves involved in spiritual covenants they do not desire for their selves. Simply by existing in certain neighborhoods, certain schools, among certain peers and family, within a certain generation, young women fall victim to views and practices that don't align with who God created them to be. They often don't know how to navigate these imposed beliefs and ultimately, react negatively and/or run away (from themselves) out of desperation, feeling defeated or like a failure. However, just like in Hagar's account, the Lord sees them and finds them on that path and calls them by name. He will commune with them and cause them to take a good look at themselves, inquiring where they've come from and where they're headed.
Just like Hagar, our young women often do not have the answers to these questions. They are instead blinded by their pain and can only identify why they've run, not where they've come from or where they're headed. The Lord desires for our young women to know these answers. As Hagar did, they must follow the instruction of the Lord and return to where they've run from (their true self) and humbly submit to the authority in who God created them to be. They must also, in faith, receive the word of the Lord concerning His purpose for what is within them.
Thus, See Me Well® Foundation was birthed for young women to experience their own Beer-lahai-roi --- where the Lord sees them, where they see their true selves and where they see the purpose of the Lord for their life.
