BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Malaika Turner | President
Malaika is deeply committed to the development and maintenance of spaces of inclusion and belonging through the study and employment of the tenets of diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism and belonging. This commitment is evidenced through her years of serving the various communities of which she belongs.
Malaika holds a Doctor of Pharmacy, as well as a Master's in Public Health. She utilizes both to serve the student body at the Howard University College of Pharmacy where she is a faculty member. Her educational experience also contributes to how she serves her local community through health equity advocacy.
Malaika believes in doing all things with great love and she is looking forward to her love for God and people coming together in service to the See Me Well Foundation Board of Directors.
Ariel Thorne | Vice President
Ari is a Doctoral student, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma trained psychotherapist with a passion for serving children and the people who love them. She enjoys educating via interactive trainings and workshops. However, her favorite title is Mom and the best role she's had to date is parenting a beautiful miracle boy.
She loves God and loves people and as a member of the See Me Well Foundation Board of Directors, she intends to use every skill and resource to serve young women in the community, across the state and eventually, nationwide!
Shanice Pereira | Treasurer
Shanice is committed to providing students of color with opportunities and access to reach their dreams. Currently she is the Senior Director for Recruitment and Outreach at Year Up - National Capital Region, a national non-profit job training program with a mission to close the opportunity divide.
She has served as the Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach at Lincoln University, the nation's first-degree granting Historically Black College, and University. Prior to Lincoln University, Shanice served as an Admissions Officer at Morgan State University. Her passion for admissions and recruitment can be traced back to her time as an Admissions Student Ambassador at Lincoln University.
Shanice is committed to exposing students to opportunities to reach their dreams. She graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Lincoln University and a Master's in Professional Studies from Towson University. She is excited to pour into See Me Well Foundation and serve as one its inaugural board members.
Sade Spriggs | Secretary
Sade, an esteemed professional currently serves as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant at a local mental health agency. Her diverse professional journey includes roles such as a teacher and Family Support Specialist. With a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies and a current pursuit of a Master's in Clinical Social Work, she is deeply dedicated to the welfare of children and families.
Sade's heartfelt commitment extends from her love for Christ, where she seamlessly connects her professional expertise with her passion for faith-based initiatives. Her multifaceted approach is enriched by her love for travel, culture, and learning new things. Sade is a valuable asset to the organization, blending extensive experience, academic rigor, anchored faith, and a genuine devotion to nurturing the well-being of the community.
Sade is excited for her passion and expertise to collide as she serves on the board of See Me Well Foundation.
