“7 out of 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members.”

Real Girls, Real Pressure: Dove Self-Esteem Fund (2014).

The Self-Worth Crisis

Only 55% of girls report feeling confident.

Compared to 68% of girls reporting feeling confident seven years ago.

79% of girls report that they are under so much pressure, they feel they are going to "explode".

While this pressure is reported from external and internal sources, most girls pressure themselves to be perfect.

67% of girls don't speak their mind around others so they'll be liked.

Young women are afraid to use their authentic voice for fear of other's perception.

68% of young women believe they are in competition with one another.

Competition and distrust with peers threaten to impact view of self, both internally and externally.
